ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

I hope you are right.

It will be easy for them to say that since you have been upgraded to Accor+ Explorer then the new rules now apply to you.

Edit: The lack of formal communications addressing this issue is interesting. Is it an an oversight, is it because they do in fact intend to apply the new rules, or is it because they don't want people rushing prior to 1 Oct to stack bonus nights?
I would be VERY surprised if they do that.

As mentioned upthread, I signed up to 2 yrs ALL Ibis Biz before it was “enhanced” and they Grandfathered the auto Gold for the life of the membership instead of the 10 nights per year. There was some jiggery pokery for a few days as it transitioned but soldered on as normal. That only expired in March this year and why I finally can do A+.

Concern or confusion with the change as my membership renewal is Sept 30, the same as the rollover day so I may get lost in the wash with the conversion. Before the program change, I was guaranteed Platinum to the end of my membership year 2026, regardless of nights. But now it feels that has changed and I can no longer bank on the extension.
I am pretty confident I can achieve the 60 nights by end September without relying on the 30 from A+. But this 60 will be made up of some bonus nights from Accor 2.0 (China). I signed up to China's program as I am looking at work related bookings for Q1 2026, so it was a legitamate subscription to make use of points and status outside APAC. So if I need to, I can purchase a few more nights from the China program to tick me over 60 nights by end September. This feels like it is adequate.

My memory is shocking to say the least, so I found a previous upthread comment from you to refresh my memory:

I called A+ today and they advised that my Platinum would be extended to the end of my next membership year, which will be end September 2026. This will be reflected in my account on October 1 when my membership year is renewed. It just happens my membership year renewal and program change date align. And the bonus nights from other programs are still included in the allowance to make up the status nights; e.g.. 10 bonus nights from Accor China sign up PLUS 30 bonus nights from A+ PLUS 20 nights and counting from actual stays.
I am still not confident as it was a confusing conversation on the phone. So I guess I will have to wait and see what happens.

So if your plan now is get 40 bonus nights from Accor China and have 20 nights from actual stays by 30/9, then you should be fine to keep Platinum to end 2026.

I'm guessing you will get real use from the China vouchers in the next 12 months.

If you were to get to 30 nights by 31 December, then you would only need 30 bonus nights from Accor China or Accor+Explorer.

A question would be are you staying in APAC (excluding 'China') between October to December 2025? If not, then you could consider rejoining Accor+Explorer in 2026 whenever suits you - that with 30 nights of actual stays (including in 'China' :)) in 2026 should get you Platinum to end of 2027..

(Edit to add) Note: Loyalty Lobby in this article written/revised after the Accor Plus changes were announced (https://loyaltylobby.com/2025/08/06...e-qualifying-nights-easiest-path-to-platinum/) indicates there is some system issue in capping Accor China bonus nights.

This issue may leave you considering to save yourself from buying more Accor China and just renew Accor+Explorer. Sorry for more confusion!

.....

Our AccorPlus expiry month is the same (September). I'm operating on the assumption that the nights will be credited on 1/10 unfortunately.

I don't have any further stay plans either before 30/9, nor 31/12, but have plans in January 2026 (however not in China). So I'm stuck on 14 nights.

I'll probably solely hope that the old Platinum 'hack' extension is lurking somewhere when renewing Accor+Explorer in September 2025 because I'll probably look for Red Hot Room and try to use the B1G1F for my January plans. But I am expecting to drop to Gold.

Accor China ($800 to get 50 nights, or $300 to get 20 nights unless there is some promo I'm unaware of) doesn't seem sensible in my situation when there are no plans to go to China. Also my Platinum experience is coloured by limited room upgrades (as a family of 4), free breakfasts is great, and lounge access where available.

Edit: Also going Accor+Explorer if crediting on 1/10 and 20 nights AccorChina prior to 30/9 seems to put me in the same position as just hoping the Platinum hack is still lurking. So will still keep an ear to ground on when those August renewal credit and maybe AccorChina promos could change my course.

I've never used the dining discount before, do I just ask them to apply the Accor plus discount at the end of the meal?
