QF have registered the first of the 4 “midlife” ex SQ B737-800s as VH-XZQ, a 2015 build and is currently QFs newest 737.
One would assume that the next 3 are XZR/S/T?

Do we know if they will be refitted, given SQ operated them as 12J 150 Y with the larger rear toilets.
(Or wait until the 737 refurb program of 42 aircraft starts in 2027)

Not listed on QF seatmaps.

Aircraft 9V-MGK (which matches the serial number on the CASA rego) had been stored in KUL, but flew back to SIN 4 days ago.

MGL still in KUL, and MGM and MGM still flying for SQ (though MGM didn't fly over the weekend)

Lessor for these was Deucalion who previously leased A330s to Virgin so I can probably see why they wanted nothing to do with VA again so gone elsewhere.

QF should have been more proactive with picking up 737 leases over the past decade. Rex and Virgin have picked up some good mid life aircraft previously. Not sure why they had a hands off policy when it came to sourcing other misc 737s over the years. Now they are left with a pretty patchy fleet.

Picking up non standard aircraft is not necessarily a good thing from a safety perspective, they often have options that were not taken up in the standard fleet, such as f/o nose wheel steering etc. Virgin may have been good at picking up mid life aircraft but are now dealing with a fleet that’s bits and bobs when it comes to SOP, there is a reason they stopped more coming in.

While we mightn't see it on the East coast, Network (QantasLink) has been hoovering up narrowbody Airbuses and now has 24 319 / 320s with another 4 coming from 3K.

He was happy to spend money on jetstar
I suppose his bet maybe correct where now Jetstar is the biggest revenue driver of Qantas Group.
Yet he has left the premium flyers behind. Why would we wanted to fly Jetstar when Business Class is not available?
I think if the Boeing 737 would have its interior refitted, it would be the same cabin as A220/A321XLR, with WiFi installed as well?

Assuming it's the same refit that the other 737's are getting - then yes same cabin.

But that's not due to commence until late 2026.. id be surprised if QF has the seats given this ex-SQ purchase appears relatively last minute.
Could just be that they keep the SQ interior for a year? The key difference is one row of Y right?
Not sure it makes sense to refit the interior to something different to the other refurbs when it's only a year away, but I don't run an airline.

These aircraft will be based up in BNE and will be mostly doing QLD internal flights and not really scheduled to be going anywhere else. This is until the cabin refurbishment starts (when ever that may be) , which then they will be used network wide.
