QantasLink to fly to Christmas & Cocos (Keeling) Islands

Another good trip for scuba divers! First Palau and now C&C Islands - things are looking up!

I can't believe that there has been two entire pages of posts and nobody has posted about how many SC's? Things are getting slack on AFF! 🤣 Has anyone worked out how many SC's are aren't? And how many SC's a PC member receives when using a rewards flight?

PC/PC+: 77SC, if flying via melbourne/ Sydney
(15+7+11+7+7+15+15)
Remove 30SC if just flying from
Perth 😃

Do the stops count seperate like this?
I imagine each sector would count individually, I have a booking and the way it’s laid out would leave me to believe it would count for individual flight sectors even if it’s on the same flight number (similar like with the qantas “milk run” routes)

Do the stops count seperate like this?
No not unless booked individually as these services are booked as a through flight on the same flight number.

Status credits and points are awarded on origin and destination excluding any intermediate stops when flying on a through flight. Similar to how QF1 SYD-SIN-LHR credits as one single sector.

the biggest issue for me is i want to combine both destinations on the one trip, but the flight goes PER-CCK-XCH-PER on Friday and PER-XCH-CCK-PER on Monday.

It just means you have to go to PER-CCK-XCH on Friday, then on Monday get XCH-CCK, then the following Friday get CCK-XCH-PER.

Its something I'm likely to do though, did Norfolk a few years ago which was a great choice. Been wanting to visit Christmas and Cocos and Keeling islands for a while.

Most QFi flights starting wtih 3 are government contracts.
This is no longer true. QFi uses 3xx flight numbers on QantasLink operated flights.

The Palau route uses QF165/166, Norfolk Island uses QF183, QF184, QF179, QF180 and they are all gov contract flights (operated by a 737) meanwhile QF357/QF358 to/from HIR, QF359/360 to/from NOU, QF355/QF356 to/from WLG (Saturdays only) are all E190 flights not under contract operated by QantasLink.

QF361, QF362, QF363 and QF364 the XCH/CCK flight numbers just fir into the next free block after QF360 from NOU.

Or
Mon: Per-Xch-Cck (4 nights)
Fri:Cck-Xch (3 nights)
Mon: Xch-Cck-Per

That's what we did in 2016 on Va. But our Cck-Xch flight was delayed by 24 hours meaning we only had 2 nights at Xch.

A notice posted on the IOT News Facebook group earlier today indicates that an additional XCH return service on Saturdays in Nov/Dec/Jan is currently being finalised and will be available to book soon. Sounds like it's just PER-(LEA)-XCH return at this stage, no mention of it stopping at CCK.

Noted, the system is a mess now we have QLK flying international.
