Condor considering joining Oneworld alliance

I read German Leisure travel and all I can think of is walking onto the aircraft and seeing every "good" seat pre-claimed with a towel.

My Uncle was a champion in Mallorca when still alive: Sandals, white socks a short and a typical German tourist hat. Noone had a chance agains him reserving chairs at the pool.

if they flew into KL, Colombo, HK or tokyo it would be useful for OW RTW awards. They do fly into Joburg though so its a longish way to Europe.... but you can also have an african safarai on the way.

I'm all for more airlines joing. South america and Southern Africa generally are lacking, albeit Southern Africa is generall accessible from Europe and the Mioddle east, its more of a pain for people coming from elsewhere and moving around Africa.

Condor has been building up a bit of a network from FRA to major European cities, since it had to terminate its interline agreement with Lufthansa. Obviously if it joined Oneworld, it might also consider adding flights to places like MAD, LHR and HEL as well.

Yes, its primary focus is flying to German leisure destinations, but it does also fly to some more business-oriented destinations like New York, LA, Seattle, Johannesburg, etc. The network is probably better than what Airberlin used to offer, actually.
Actually Air Berlin had a fairly extensive route service out of German regionals also Zurich and a very large base ironically at Palma Majorca. London Stansted had quite a few and Glasgow served London (Stansted) even with Air Berlin. Flew them often back in the day on many routes. .
