The view or two from my "office"

Sitting at Berlin-Lichtenberg waiting for our train to Poznan. Mouldering away in a siding was this train. It is a remnant of East Germany. The DR stands for Deutsche Reichbahn the DDR train operator. It was the ICE of its day. This an article about the restoration of one of them.

When I see the red dirt, I feel like I’m coming home. It’s a Western Australian thing for me, although I remember red soil in Mildura living there as a teenager. I’ve never been to Port Hedland before, and it’s been an eye opener!
