Public buses that allow you to see the tourist sites- Amsterdam and Istanbul

Inspired by @MattA and his excellent suggestion about buses in London that drove right past the tourist sites, was wondering whether anyone had any suggestions for Amsterdam and Istanbul. On a (hopefully) upcoming holiday, my mobility will be restricted so was hoping to use buses to help me see things rather than walking, I realise that there are hop on and hop off buses but Istabul is over $100 for one day so looking for a cheaper option that that

Also very convenient if you staying near Centraal. The tram line starts just nearby (plus the airport trains arrive at Central). The Ibis Centraal is functional.
