The view or two from my "office"

Ross, Tassie office to confirm the bakery there still makes Australia’s best vanilla slice.
Bit morbid, but like to visit cemeteries. View attachment 456992View attachment 456993
I like to visit Commonwealth graves in Europe and give thanks to the young men who fought for democracy.
Edit: To clarify, I don't do a Comm grave tour, but if I am in a cemetary for whatever reason I will seek out the Comm graves.

We are off on our trip. This time starting at MCY.

We were the only ones going through security and there were 14 staff. Mrsdrron made a comment to the woman serving our coffee. She said that is usual if few passengers but if a crowd arrives 12 will immediately take a coffee break.

That was our experience when we went through MCY a month ago. The security people had an issue with one of my camera lenses and it too three rescans and about 15 minutes to get through. MrsK sailed through this time and was sitting down with a glass of bubbles by the time I joined her

No, just a random tombstone, just love reading them, just hard to imagine what these people went thru back then.
Agreed. I look at 200yr old ancestor graves in little villages and wonder what life was like for them. Those who worked the land through European winters must have been so cold, even after they came home to their families. They didn't have the luxury of warm clothes we know today. And the ones who fished the North Sea must have been permanently chilled to the bone seeking apricity.

Turns out that I only get 80% of my Y office with the massive, smelly, sweaty bloke to my right taking up the other 20% of it. This is going to be a long flight! ☹️🤢

Probably needs it's own thread, but reflecting on my experience I feel violated. QF staff would not and should not put up with a complete stranger rubbing up against them for 5 hours. Why is it that airlines feel it's ok to put their pax in such situations? It's not the fault of the passenger next to me but the airline IMHO. The CSM said he should have purchased a second seat but unless it's enforced 99% of larger pax aren't going to.

I literally had a complete stranger rubbing up against me for 5 hours. I'm pretty angry right now about the situation. What does one do?
