I accumulated points through much research.
Credit Cards, Mortgage Deals- 1990's-2000's.
Recent Deals and Desire to revisit the World enticed me towards procurring QFF Points again.
Our Daughter turned 21. She had a taste of Business Class of Sorts, on a return from Bali to Perth when she was perhaps 10.
Her aspirations to Travel Around the World became real when I transferred points to her.
I have to start accumulating again !

We are disappointed with Qantas for international points travel as there is so much competition for so few premium seats. There are better places to earn points and use them now. We still have several million Qantas points but they have been savagely valued downwards over the last few years.
I think the September training session in Sydney will be helpful but I think that it is fully booked out now subject to cancellations.
Recently my family have used Qantas points to book Air Fiji from Sydney to Los Angeles in business at bargain points rates for the World Cup.

Hi Cove
Haven't been on this site much as I have now basically stopped
trying to use points except for interstate travel.
I decided some time ago that there was, to me, very little advantage in points.Last couple of points flights put me off.
Although SIA had availability the connections offered resulted in
long stay overseas in Singapore - 10 to 15 hours.
I stopped using AMEX for purchases and allocate 1.5% of purchases to a "special account". This gives me a great start in
buying tickets and has opened up to flights and airlines that I
had not considered before.
Now my choices are mine to make without the restrictions using
points.
