Good News! Pyjamas on (almost) all Qantas international flights in J!

It's funny how people get excited over PJs yet personally I see maybe two people in any wide body cabin actually wearing them regardless being QF, JL, ANA, CX,SQ ..🙄

I too think PJs are a bit ho-hum, but that's because I regard them as normal, and expected. Certainly on QF flights I see most J pax in them and many on QR. No so much on SQ as they don't give them out.

There are also PJs, and then there are PJs. Let's be honest, not all airline PJs are created equal.

Indeed. The only ones I wear (and that's at home, not on planes) are the Armani PJs from Etihad first. My wardrobe is overflowing with lesser ones (that I haven't been able to give away) from other airlines (eg Qantas).

Do you mean SQ don’t give them at all or only on request?

I gathered from folks on here that SQ was kind of a cut above most airlines in regard to service.

I have my first SQ flight planned for next month. I would be a bit annoyed if no PJ provided.

The service on SQ is better than many other airlines. But whether you get pyjamas is a tiny part of the service offering.

SQ offer PJs in first, but not business. First also gets an amenity kit on all flights, business class only on routes over 6 hours.

No amenity kit on my SIN-MEL 7hr J flight last week. Or at least not offered. Take your own PJs @Cessna 180 . The service is good, though.

Ok thanks Sudoer and Roo.

Not the end of the world really, I was just a bit taken aback when I initially read that, given the hype around SQ.
A Tshirt and shorts will suffice, as I normally just wear the top and my own shorts on previous long haul.
Thanks for the info.

There's always trade-offs with profit making establishments. SQ seems to invest more in things like offering pre-ordered meals from inflight menu or from the "Book the Cook" options, whilst not offering PJs and only having amenity kits on request. Although I wouldn't be surprised when the 777X's finally arrive and they relaunch business class they introduce them on EU and US flights.

SQ amenity kits in J are officially ‘on request’ only. On all my flights they have only proactively offered them once to the cabin as a whole, and that wasn’t even the SIN-LHR flight!

I personally dont like the Qf J PJs and don't wear them...but family members and friends do, and I have also given away alot over the years....they seem to shrink too after washing!

But they serve their purpose? Keep clothes wrinkle free, keep clothes fresh, keep clothes free from food spills.

(If you do wash them, just stretch them as you take them out of the machine while still damp… grab the waist and cuffs and pull. Returns them to normal size.)

To avoid having to change in the aircraft bathroom, I now change into trackie pants and T shirt in the lounge prior, and wear a removable jumper...that's my onboard sleep attire. Hope but dont really care if I bump into someone I know ;)
