We are fortunate to have an upcoming SQ RTW J itinerary that will get me to VA Gold before the rules change. The booking is directly with SQ via the app.

The first two sectors occur in September of which I need accrue 377 SC into VA.

My calculations show if I credit the SQ flights to VA I will get the following

BNE-SIN 4,145 Pts, 120 SC
SIN-LHR 7,348 Pts 160 SC

That gets me 280SC then with family pooling gets me to 560. I will not do enough loyal VA flying in 2026 to qualify under the new rules, so these 'surplus' SC are wasted and that is not in my DNA

BNE-SIN-LHR is going to be one check-in as we connect through but with maybe 8 hours in SIN. Is there a workable pre-loaded strategy that can allow me to credit BNE-SIN sector to VA while keeping the SIN-LHR to SQ?

Retaining the SIN-LHR miles in SQ will then qualify me for SQ Silver by the end of the trip. Without them I end at an awkward 24,669 but needing 25,000 for silver.

The manual solution that I have is

I am thinking I could short check to SIN, update my booking earning, complete SIN-LHR check-in. resulting in 400 SC to me

Mrs Albatross and luggage, checked through BNE-SIN-LHR with VA earning flowing to me through family pooling.
Mr Albatross checkin BNE-SIN with VA earning. Then update the FFP to all SQ for the remainder of the journey. Check-in in SIN to LHR

I had some time tonight to pose this to ChatGPT which took quite a few iterations to eventually produce this. I will call SQ and see if they can actually do it.

Yes – Singapore Airlines does allow you to assign different FFP numbers on a per-sector basis, but only via segment-associated SSR entries (not through the standard Manage Booking or online check-in forms).
  • Online check-in/Manage Booking only supports one FQTV (accrual) and one FQTS (status) for the entire itinerary milelion.com.
  • Sector-by-sector requires GDS or Reservations Agent intervention, using SSR FQTV/FQTS with the /S[segment] qualifier. For example, in Amadeus you’d enter:

SR FQTV SQ HK/-LH401001302094651/S1 # credit segment 1 to LH
SR FQTV SQ HK/-SQ123456789012/S2 # credit segment 2 to KrisFlyer

This generates separate Mileage Credit Requests per coupon, so each sector posts to the FFP you’ve specified singaporeair.com.
If you need to split accrual by sector, ask your travel agent or call SQ Reservations to key in those SSRs, or work through an airline-approved GDS terminal.
