A question Rooey. Have Ponant managed to improve their parkas? When we were in Antarctica with them, the pockets were not water resistant and as a result any moisture, spray, snow got through to the inside (even when zipped up).

i’m afraid I can’t help you on that. Mine hasn’t had the opportunity to get wet yet. but I’ll give it a try this afternoon.

But overall, I would say the parkad are not very good.

when booking, they ask you to do your measurements and send them on to get you the right parka size. On board you are just presented with the racks of parkers and asked to choose one. Guy handed me a 5XL and said that looks fine, tell the lady that that’s what you’re taking. Ummm. No. eventually, I took a 2XL and he was getting impatient with me to move on.

The transparent room card holder on the sleeve isn’t big enough to show the barcode that they scan when you get on and off so you have to take it out every time.

The inner of the Parka isn’t separatable from the outer like the Silversea ones, so if you just want waterproofing, you’ve got to take the thermal insulation as well. Everyone is saying that they get really hot in them.

Extime J Lounge CDG. There are outside views but it seems pretty quiet nearby.

Waiting to board an EY A380. We were here by ourselves at first as we stayed nearby to CDG and got an early shuttle. Food at breakfast time is nothing exciting but ok. It was lovely and quiet early on but now everybody urgently needs to ring someone else and have a long discussion.

Small hot selection.

And we thought they were pretty ordinary and didn't bother taking them home. Left them onboard.

I don't care about the consequences, this is too good to play by the 2 photo rule 🤣

@Flashback @k_sheep - could you check please whether Albatros will supply parkas and rent us boots on board? I intend to leave my Ponant Parka behind as it’s very bulky and I don’t need a great red beacon in Tas but will keep it if we have to bring our own parkers to Greenland.

Boots yes, when we filled in the medical etc. form it asked for boot size. Parkas isn't clear but might be listed on the site somewhere?

Good thing it's not the other side of the building seeing all the dejected Carlton supporters leave the "G" early...

I took myself off on the tram to visit a sculpture of one of my forebears
