I'm in the process of starting a new online retail business importing and selling scuba diving equipment, and I am looking for ways to differentiate my business from that of other somewhat similar businesses. One of the things that I am wondering about is offering QFF points with purchases. Is anyone here in a business that offers QFF points with purchases and knows anything about it?

Maybe. Then again not asking the person to disclose their business name etc. Rough ball park would be fine
I’d a thought it would be a fairly standard rate / scale (whatever that is).

But I’d assume the startup costs could be prohibitive for a smaller SME? (Happy to be told otherwise).

Qantas have a number of entry points for partners wishing to offer points. The lowest bar to entry is the business rewards program while those wishing to offer points to consumers face considerable hurdles to get onboard. The scheme is not dissimilar to the way a shopping centre is run, if you are a desired anchor tenant you are wooed otherwise it’s hard to get in. Points costs vary considerably depending on the yearly volume and an indicative value would be somewhat useless given that variance.

I resigned as a moderator back in the day to focus on my career in an ASX listed telco and one of the paths in my role was pursuing QFF membership for our customers, it was an interesting but ultimately failed journey.

Qantas points have lost their gloss with their points becoming way less valuable due to the number of members enrolled. We had a deal that started almost 20 years ago in the business we sold almost 2 years ago. The deal was subject to non disclosure clauses. Once enrolled the points price never changed and we used it for a customer loyalty programme for our wholesaling business.
