Definitely not there anywhere in both old and new account. May have to ask P2 to call them.

Has anyone been asked by Chase to complete and send a W9 form by fax? Any hints on what it means? TIA

No that’s usually a Tax form for US residents - non residents usually do a W8 form instead. Is this for a credit card or a cheque/savings

Hmm it was for a Ink business preferred, I do have a EIN as well - would that work you think or is it safer just sending a W8 + CP65?

Ok I don’t have an Ink but from memory in the thread others have suggested calling maybe the fraud line and explaining you have ITIN and you need to do a W8 - apparently fraud line team is a bit more in tune with differences in forms

It will probably be a HUCA situation as may not get through to right people at first

Its normally as soon as the Premier Database is updated - for me and P2 that was about 5 days after getting Premier in Australia - 30 days I guess is just to be safe

Only risk is that you wont be on Premier database - that happened to me - I redid it in 10 days - cant see a risk - depends how quickly you need the account

I would wait until you are in the Premier database. It will take at least 3-4 days and you’ll get an email from HSBC AU saying you’re Premier.

If you do it sooner, the US forces you to wait 30 days from the time you are on the database where I suspect you might not have that issue if you’re already on the database.

Does anyone know if one needs to wait 10 days as well after issue for an Amex authorised card to be sent to Oz ?
I had my mailing address listed as the Oz one but they still sent it to my planet express address.
Btw one cannot apply for an authorised user card if you don’t have your us address listed .
The application does not progress .

I called and tried to change the address but AMEX now wants me to do complete document verification with NotaryCam. How does the entire process work and what do I need to do? And any fees associated? No fees for notary cam .
Ask them to send you Link for notary cam .
Or you can go to notary cam.com register for account with your passport , book a time .
Since you will have no other reference details use application reference as identifier .
At appointed time do a video verification with online notary who will confirm you details .
Mention your details , try your Oz address this time so card can be sent to you .

Then later call Amex and confirm you have completed process and to complete .
Say that you are travelling and would like to have card sent to Oz .

As @blacksultan said its free - very easy - just did recently - takes 5 - 10 mins - send over passport first and then schedule time and they will present a form asking you why you think Amex is wanting you to do this and to select the option that best suits you (I did number 2 as I have been Amex customer for 2 years)

They auto send to Amex and 10 mins later can call Fraud line and ask them to ship you card to Australia

Been on the Amex US fraud protection rollercoaster over the past week after a booking I attempted to make with a major airline (in AUD) was flagged - I wanted to document in case anyone else ends up in the same position.

SafeKey failed on the transaction with a generic error, I thought it might have been a temporary issue with the SafeKey system and was going to try again the next day. When I woke up the following morning I found a pre-recorded voicemail message from Amex asking me to call them about a potentially fraudulent transaction.

No problem, these calls are a walk in the park I...

I got another question, can I use the same Australian AMEX account for the US card? Or do I have to create a new one (unfortunately have not done this process yet since I need to have the card with me before I can create an account for the US AMEX card)? Cheers.

No you set up a new one once you get your US card - new username - that will log you into US Amex account
