Paper towels enhanced from lounges?

Pathetic. I wish I'd known this on my visit to the Int'l J lounge last week and I would have taken a stack. I always take one or two extra to use to wipe my face on long flights (as after all, even in J, the hot towels are long gone). The amount of oil one's face can manage to produce on a long-haul flight made having that extra-absorbent saviour literally in my back pocket feel downright luxurious.

Just returned from a return trip in Y on JL this week and the difference in service level is embarrassing. Then again, that's the thing with shamelessness: when you don't have any shame, you don't care.

Looking ahead, I'm flying to the US in J on FJ next month and other carriers on several future trips where in the past I know I would've defaulted to QF for the status credits and points. The punitive treatment of partners for status credits and lack of reward seats doesn't matter given status increasingly means less and less and classic rewards are nowhere to be found.

All good in the SYD F lounge this morning, though it would be a crime if they were enhanced from this lounge (sadly, wouldn't put it past them though)

Well, they've enhanced decent champagne away too. What they serve (laillier) is the most awful champagne I've ever tasted. Cheap and nasty.

Sadly agree (what happened to the choice of 3, which was still there as recently as 2023?) but for me the worst was the enhancement of Perrier-Jouet which disappeared not long after I finally made WP in 2017...

Perhaps just coincidence but all the paper towel dispensers were empty in the MEL QP when I was there on Tuesday and again must now in the BNE J lounge the paper towel dispensers were conspicuously empty.

Coincidence or enhancement?

Would it be too much to ask if airlines/airports are going to enhance away paper towels on the ground facilities that they actually test and service the hand dryers? i.e. Do they work at all? Are there the same number of air dryers as sinks? Do they need to operate at 120 Decibels? Is the sensor still in calibration so that it doesn't turn itself off after one nanosecond of operation, are they cleaned? etc etc

No towels in ADL QF lounge since the renova! The facial tissues atre popular but run out quickly.

Air drying isgood if you ensure your hands are dry but takes time. I wonder how many clean(?) wet hands touch the door handles?

Thanks for that info. Two boxes ordered and on their way. MrsK is much happier now - after experiencing the 'enhanced' lounge experience over the past week.

Calm had been restored in Chez Kookaburra, with the new paper towels waiting for us on our arrival back in Canberra.

MrsK reported that in the SYD QP today they had boxes of tissues out on the sinks
A small, maybe even trivial thing, but when we have to fork out extreme accounts of money to fly out of Canberra, especially on Dash 8s, it does matter.
