Well I guess the jokes on me - I didn't read the terms. I think I had an ABN on there years ago but my side hussle business hasn't operated since Covid. They said I didnāt have the ABN in at the time of booking. I donāt think thatās accurate, but also the ABN was a pre-requisite for the 10 point so how did I get them?? Anyway Iām 70 points from platinum so I wonāt let it go.
Happy for you - but now also extra frustratedWell interestingly I don't actually have an ABN nor have I registered for business flyer but I did activate the offer (before realising it requires an ABN to register) and I now I just reliased the bonus SC landed anyway.![]()
Soooo, did this only apply for seats booked as business class? As, I've received zero status credits for 6 Choice flights, yet have received the 10 Velocity Points for those routes. Weird. We're giving Velocity members a chance to boost their Status withāÆup to 125 bonus Status Credits , when they activate this offer and fly on 2+ eligible Virgin Australia flights for business travel by 31 March 2025*.
Fly 2 flights = 45 bonus Status Credits
Fly 3 flights = 65 bonus Status Credits
Fly 4 flights = 85 bonus Status Credits
Fly 5 flights = 105 bonus Status Credits
Fly 6+ flights = 125 bonus Status Credits
Eligible business travel must either be booked via virginaustralia.com with an ABN attached, booked through the Virgin Australia Business Flyer booking portal, or booked via your Travel Management Company.
Plus, you'll get 10 bonus Velocity Points for every eligible flight booked and flown between 28 January - 31 March 2025^.
Nothing to do with business class, your choice flights ought to be fine, but flights had to be booked with an ABN or via the business flyer portal. Odd that no SCs have come through unless they were rewards.Soooo, did this only apply for seats booked as business class? How did you go with this? Im going through the same thing. 8 flights booked all through the portal, all got the 10 points, but they are saying no valid ABN, despite there is.They said I didnāt have the ABN in at the time of booking. I donāt think thatās accurate, but also the ABN was a pre-requisite for the 10 point so how did I get them?? Anyway Iām 70 points from platinum so I wonāt let it go.
We use Reho and they inserted their ABN on one of my bookings. It couldn't be changed.I've been having a massive email argument with Velocity firstly with them trying to use the "booked date" rather than the "ticketed date" as a reason to deny - they backed down on this one as the T&Cs pretty clearly stated eligibility as when the ticketed date.
Now they are pushing the no ABN despite the flights being booked though a corporate agent. as far as I can tell from the T&Cs an ABN is only required if you book on the virgin website.
An Eligible Flight is:
A. a one-way domestic or short haul international flight marketed and operated by Virgin Australia, booked through virginaustralia.com adding an ABN number to the booking before travel where the ABN is linked to a Virgin Australia Business Flyer account, the Virgin Australia Business Flyer booking portal or via the memberās nominated Travel Management Company; and
Has anyone else had any luck here?
Yeah. Seems they are on somewhat a corporate kamikaze mission in relation to their elites.I'm pretty surprised that this is the hill they want to die on for honestly a few status credits. I've had pretty good experiences in the past with QF making exceptions in these sort of cases or just pushing through claims, whereas it feels like VFF are trying to catch me on every technicality possible.
For a promo which was meant to promote business flying and encourage more pax from QF, I really am wondering whether chasing to retain double gold is worth it...
