We had skis delivered by UPS from a mountain shop in Maine USA to Jindabyne NSW in 5 daysOrdered something from Japan on Monday and paid a few dollars extra to ship via DHL
Oh yeah, I'm certainly not complaining about delivering from Japan to my door in (what was effectively) 3.5 days, especially when compared to what we experience here getting something from address 1 to address 2 within the same city. But the scheduled delivery window stuff is a joke when managed like this.We had skis delivered by UPS from a mountain shop in Maine USA to Jindabyne NSW in 5 days
On the other hand I could not get a Foxtel remote replacement in under 3 weeks.
UPS also delivered a DVD player from Kentucky to my lodge in Winter Park Colorado in a snowstorm in 14hrs. I ordered it at 8pm and the UPS guy delivered it at 11am. I dont know how he got it up the mountain due to the massive snow.
Yes WCMO is the tardiness of the local offering compared to what can be done elsewhereJapan to my door in (what was effectively) 3.5 days
I've been known to ring them and make the driver come backWCMO today? DHL.
Ordered something from Japan on Monday and paid a few dollars extra to ship via DHL rather than EMS. EMS is usually good and reliable, but DHL was faster. Get notified this morning that DHL have my parcel out for delivery between 12 and 2pm. No language saying that this is an estimate, rather it is "...scheduled for delivery TODAY between 12:00 and 14:00."
Knowing I need to be back a bit before 12pm (just in case), I decide to step away to do some chores. Naturally, at 11:24am, I receive a message from DHL -: "Sorry me missed you! .....please rearrange delivery."
Honestly, why provide a delivery window if you have no intent of actually delivering within that window??
Edit: What makes it worse is that when they apparently attempted delivery, I was over the road at the shops (literally only 50m or so away from my front door).

No because the agents need to know whether the prospective renter has reliable income. It's become more and more difficult to evict a tenant for nonpayment of rent.Shouldn't latest 2 payslips be enough?
Same here. Re-delivery now booked for Monday as it's not a time-critical delivery (despite the fact that I was really looking forward to receiving it today).I've been known to ring them and make the driver come back![]()
Has anyone ever used 2Apply for rental applications?
They want a copy of bank statement. Shouldn't latest 2 payslips be enough? There is no way I'm providing them a copy of my statement. Where I spend my money is none of their business. I have provided a screenshot of bank account with incoming and outgoing for the month.
It's all these intrusive littke things that have become a prerequisite to do anything today.
I'm rarely in a hurry so if these types CMO I'll sit in the car and use the phone (emails text etc) or I'm usually waiting for SWMBO. I've had the other driver walk up and thump on the window. They get so pissed when you tell them you are not going anywhere.People in huge 4WD who want my parking space (there are others but that would require they walk 10 metres) and then sit on the wrong side of the road waiting for me to take back my trolley, walk back, watch as I back out and I can’t get out of the area because they are still on my side of the road. They don’t reverse up but I have to back up quite some distance so they can swing their ugly truck into the park I’ve just left. As soon as they made enough room I was out and hope they had to back up again to get into that space.
I like your thinking.I'm rarely in a hurry so if these types CMO I'll sit in the car and use the phone (emails text etc) or I'm usually waiting for SWMBO. I've had the other driver walk up and thump on the window. They get so pissed when you tell them you are not going anywhere.
AHPRA?Trying to renew my registration with Professional Body, it has moved across to a new portal and be stu**ed if I can get it working.
Even though I am retired, I can still register as Non Practising - but not at the rate I'm going
SIL from Qld having issues too, so it's not just me!

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.UPS also delivered a DVD player from Kentucky to my lodge in Winter Park Colorado in a snowstorm in 14hrs. A small pebble in a tyre valve is appropriate. Two tyres if the smile/shrug had mayo on it.This talk about waiting for parking spots reminds me of a personal peeve...
Carpark is packed and after finally finding what looks to be someone about to leave, you stick your indicator on and find a place to wait such that other traffic can move past without too much trouble. Driver of the car for which you're waiting glances up and notes your presence, complete with indicator. Great! They're aware that you're waiting patiently and will (hopefully) not take longer than necessary to finish up. They continue to pack whatever is going into the car, slowly walk the trolley back to a collection bay, return to their car, faff around a bit longer, then suddenly lock it and turn back to you with a sheepish smile/shrug to indicate that no, actually they're not leaving.
Sure, they could have indicated that to you when they clearly noticed you waiting for their spot some minutes prior (and counting), but no, apparently that would have been the sensible and considerate thing to do. And we don't do sensible and considerate.
Was swift all right, he just sent all the parcels to LPOswift completion of their appointed rounds.
Yes. Thats the reverse of what I was saying too. Not relevant in my case this morning as there were plenty of parks. And I wave people on quickly if I'm not leaving. To get rid of them. This talk about waiting for parking spots reminds me of a personal peeve...

At this time of the year the YTD salary is on these payslips. No because the agents need to know whether the prospective renter has reliable income. It's become more and more difficult to evict a tenant for nonpayment of rent.
They are awful. They want to charge to keep data longer than 2 weeks and they keep asking whether I want to pay $19.95 or $29.95 to let agent know if I am good tenant or not. No thanks.Welcome to the hell that is 2Apply. Speaking from experience.
