Hi all,
Flying MEL-LAX this Saturday.
Paid via FFP.
Have applied for upgrades to Premium Economy, 2 seats, 76,000 Pts each.

I can see in Gyoza the plane has plenty of room, so fingers crossed for the upgrade.

Question: Online Check-In ... Should I Check-In or NOT check-in - is either more beneficial in getting the Upgrade granted...?

Any thoughts/experience out there.

Thanks in Advance.

Fingers crossed...

Makes no difference. If it was a Hilton room I’d say don’t check in but QF doesn’t work that way.

Ended up getting the upgrade confirmed to PE, but they have us allocated separately, 9 rows apart. WTF!?!

Partner (frustratingly) checked us in, so calling Customer Service couldn't change seat allocation..

Need to head to airport now earlier than planned, to discuss with desk.

And Partner now says she would prefer to sit in Economy together, than be separate in PE 😵‍💫🤯. Taking the joy out of flying

As @sudoer said as soon as you’re upgraded you can change seats to sit together.

Worst comes to worst tell the cabin manager, they’re always asking if pax would mind moving for circumstances like this.

I'm glad I have a partner who's ok sitting away from each other.

Having a group scattered is an occupational hazard of the upgrade game as you’re the last to be assigned to unallocated seats. I had my family (wife and 2 teenagers) spread across the J cabin last time we were upgraded from LHR to SIN. Kids thought it was great…
