What to bring back from New Zealand?

Definitely do NOT pop some honey in your carry on. They class it a liquid and needs to be in check-in luggage. I sometimes forget it is an international flight and not just a domestic hop skip and jump across the ditch. It sure hurts throwing out $50 tubs of honey.

You shouldn't be bringing honey into Australia anyway - I think you'll find it confiscated if you declare it

I've brought honey back from Europe. The only question at the quarantine in SYD was whether it was purchased from a store. I've been hit by carry-on restrictions much more often than AQIS.

Checked bags aren't party to the liquid rules of carry-on luggage, so liquids such as honey are best in the checked luggage. Just make sure to declare it. In my experience, commercially processed honey is permitted.

Good idea. If you are lucky you can pick them up off rocky shores or buy paua jewellery and trinkets.

I had a pair of possum fur slippers (scuffs) and wore them to death. Sadly have never been able to find another pair in NZ. Mr LtL bought them in Queenstown about 15 years ago.
