The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

Today 10JUL24 ... may be the news of new QC membership caused this?
Maybe, but the cynical old software engineer that I am, I'd sooner put my bet on it being a lack of proper integration testing or infrastructure resilience.
(I doubt there's going to have been a *mad* flood of folk coming to sign up in a couple of hours for flexible QC membership...)

I seem to recall that the QF app used to give boarding notifications, but I no longer get them. Have these been phased out or is it just me?

Noticed something weird today …

Flying MEL-CBR on QF1286. Checked in online when check-in opened. Seats allocated automatically and BP issued. All good so far.

Came to airport today to drop bags and request if possible to fly forward. Scanned my BP (from QF app) and the agent says “no can’t do fly forward to CBR” all good. I didn’t expect it to work as I had booked Y CR seats and wanted to try my luck.

Bags weighed and agent prints baggage tag. I notice that the bag tag does not feature the words “Business” or “Premium” as one of these are normally printed for SG (or WP) and above when flying domestic. But as I was waiting to collect bags at CBR, I could see other pax that were in Y, their bags had the “Business” or “Premium” printed.

Next, off to the domestic J lounge - scanned BP (from QF app) - no issues in accessing lounge however I notice that the BP shown inside the app does not show my status anywhere … the OW Emerald is missing and no mention of QF status.

Next, I saved the BP to iPhones wallet - where usually WP BP shows the blackish-grey color scheme with OWE shown etc. Nothing that tells pax FF status on this version of BP as well.

My bags arrived last in CBR. No biggie but left me wondering - is something screwed up with my QF profile? Can’t be because the FF membership card inside the app still shows WP until Dec24 …

Was the trip still appearing in the app / website? ie correctly linked to your QFF number?

Maybe your QFF details were inadvertently removed during that checkin process?

Yea, the trip was appearing on my app. I’m logged in to the app because I can see my membership card. And the trip was showing on the app, that means my QFF details are linked … the tester in me thinks somethings unlinked somewhere but I can’t seem to see/find it …

Do you have PC/PC+? The SCs would normally post within 24 hrs for CR flights.

Just noticed weirdly LTG seems to have fallen off my digital membership card. Winder if deliberate or not since I have well over 40k LTSC, that is not the issue lol

Anyone else?
I've lost LTS from the QF digital card and QF app but not when I check in my QFF account on my laptop - SG, PC+, GT and LTS are all still listed there. Random...

Has anyone updated their Qantas app on iOS to v4.12.0? It works fine on my work phone but is now stuck on the spinning wheel of death on my personal phone.

Someone's not happy.

also read that in Age today ... not sure why it is Qantas' fault, but I always love it when someone with a "platform" manages to be heard when the average punter just sucks it up.
I wonder what CP had to say.

Yes seems to be more a Cathay issue and QF flight left on time, for once, it seems. Obvious not important enough to hold flight for him. CP will say “thank you for your feedback.”

And why was he flying cattle class in seat 50 on CP and expected special treatment. DTNKWHI? :)
