My wife and I will be landing MAN in July 10/30am Mon, and as my brother is not very well i want to make my own way to his place, {21 miles} don't like the train option because of all our luggage, have been quoted 104pounds + 3% (Westpac Concierge) Q, As any member used Uber in the UK, is there anything I should lookout for, eg, busy time {Mon am} and can I use my Aust credit card.
Thankyou,
Alan.

Your uber account works overseas as I recall, regardless of the Credit card attached.

You can use Uber. I used it a lot when I was there a few weeks ago. If you have a Wise or Travel card you can make that the default payment to your Uber account so you're not paying on an Australian credit card. Also look at Bolt - if you sign up as a new person you may get some good deals. I think I got a 50% off trips when I first signed up to Bolt.

Don't user Uber but I can tell you I travel to Manchester regularly ( I was there in May) and have never had any problem using either Australian Credit cards or Australian Debit Card (ING)

Plus, you can load multiple payment methods. I switch to my 28° MC when OS. Has worked fine in all continents except Antartica…😉

I have had 3 replies from Uber, first was for 89 pounds which I ignored then 46p now its 39 which is about the train fare, thinking of leaving it till we get through to baggage claim, as there seems to be a lot of Ubers waiting

Im currently planning a trip, arriving at Manchester, and was planning on just booking a car to take us to Liverpool. After a long haul, I just want someone standing there with a sign, take the trolley and walks me to the car.

Looking forward to your update and safe travels.

tried to sign up to Bolt but they never got back to me with a verified number, i'm guessing its because its a Aust mob number

it could be that. Are you getting a UK sim while you are there?

I've just realised I think you are already there. There is often a surge for Uber so if you're not in a rush just wait a bit. Good luck. If you do get a UK sim try signing up for bolt for your return trip

Good luck

I have a friend who lives near Manchester and gets a driver. If you decide to do it let me know and I can message him and ask if he has a recommendation.

Just btw - Manchester is worth a visit as well.
