A few times I've heard people here referring to 'courtesy blocks' being assigned next to their seat to keep it vacant for as long as possible. Of course, if a flight is full, the airline will remove the block but it'd be one of the last seats allocated in the cabin.
My daughter is travelling with a 1-year old and asked AY if they could assign a courtesy block next to her. The response was that AY does not do these any more. Does this sound right?
It's an AY marketed & ticketed trip Australia - HEL (and return) and the child has paid just the infant fare without a seat. The little one is too big for a bassinet, therefore she's opted for a normal seat. She's a QFF Bronze which would mean zero thing for AY.
