I'm all for equality of the genders, however in my chosen profession, only 25% of graduates are female and yet many companies have a target of 50% - most posters in this thread appear to be pretty switched on so I'm not going to explain the obvious quandry. Mrs_O and I agreed some years ago that she would stop working for the good of our, at that time, one child but now children. She thinks that almost all of this equality is just woke, leftist activism coming from unmarried, childless humans. By giving up work, for the good of our family, we have given up $18,200 of tax free income, whatever happened to the "married couples allowance"?

USA visa application. Web site continuously buggy (loops & related). Every time I call and report, useless call centre somewhere says 'we will escalate, you'll get an e-mail ..'
After 3 weeks, e-mail says check under your profile for resolution.
Resolution is 'Fixed - continue your application'
Resume application - another bug. Call, rinse repeat.
Edit - Cheesy update. Got an e-mail after this mornings call and 'escalation'

Well, I tried it 5 minutes before the window and hit submit just as it was about to start. It said the payment didn't work ... but low and behold a few hours later I've now just received an approval e-mail (looks the same as my last one from 2017) and the payment shows as pending on my credit card, so must have gone through OK after all.At least you know they'll apologise.
