You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

Some people just can't see why I pay to fly between Aust dom capital cities, or fly Au - NZ so often.
They deem it as a waste of money.
If you have Asian relatives, or Asian friends, you will it.
For them, apart from me of course, its more sense to (if you have spare $), buy shares and collect the dividends to buy more shares, or if you have enough $, to buy property.
I never made the move into rental property (in my own name), I have got things in name only, but the funds come from family, as I pay the least tax, or for them to get the most in family benefits/pensions, so, I don't have property of my own, so, what else is there to do, er, except to get my kicks out of the (feeling) of getting the kicks out of feeling the flight take off , when the plane lifts off, and also the kicks on landing.
Or finding with dismay that that plane you hoped for, ie, the now less prominent, A330 SYD - MEL with QF, had been swapped to a measley B737.
Very hard now adays to find a QF330 on an an Aust dom flight, even PER - SYD now seems to have a lot more B737s, with QF.

Oh, don't get me started! My wife thinks I'm officially insane everytime I bring it up.
Ah, to be an avgeek...
My friend was a librarian and every number plate she would give the Dewey Decimal category eg 755 Religion - it used to make for some road trips

Edit - I did mean to say some interesting road trips

... you notice the mat to stand on for security screening has been replaced at your local airport. The staff were thrilled I pointed it out and said they really like the new mat, the contrast makes it easier to see where to stand and the darker colours look nicer.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It may be that you effectively are part of particular airport staff members' or air crew members' communities like knowing them by first name or chatting about common interests as they fulfill their duties that involve you. In some cases, a procedure may be seen as a cover for a casual chat. This is more so if you use one or more particular airports including your "home" port and, especially, you fly through them at particular times.

You get delighted when someone gifts you new packing cubes. There are never too many cubes. 😁

I was shopping at Uniqlo today and suddenly a staff member came up saying that "this weekend we have a gift for those who've spent over $75, a packing cube". 'Well, that would be handy' I thought and gladly received one (even when I usually decline all sorts of promo gifts).

Turns out it was not just one but a set of three. They feel higher grade than K-Mart ones and time will tell how long will they go. As a bonus, they came in a resealable plastic bag that is large and sturdy enough for lightweight shoes, at least for a few runs.

Pssst, its an upsell, makes you spend the $75.
Don't worry, I had no idea of any of their promos. I went to buy what I need and that's all. In fact, I'm shocking in following any promotions, advertising, etc - completely tuned out and ignorant. Most likely I could save some money or get more for my $ if I was switched on but there's just too much noise in that space.

When you would happily see a country’s economy go down the gurgler, if it means you get a better exchange rate for your next trip.
Many moons ago we went to the US with the kids who were then six and four.

We told them that they could 'earn' two dollars US each day they were good and they could spend their money on something they liked. If they had money left over, we'd convert whatever was left back to AUD when they got home.

Whilst we were there the RBA dropped interest rates unexpectedly and the AUD fell against the USD. I made a comment to MrsG to this effect. Master Gremlin (6) overheard it and started cheering.

I said "no mate, that's not good. We have to pay more when we go to the shops now here in America."

He replied, "But you're giving me USD every day. When I go back to Australia, I'll be getting more AUD as a result."

Took me a couple of minutes to work out he was dead right. Outsmarted by a six year old.

when... you've stayed in so many Marriott Bonvoy properties that the smell of the body lotion they provide in the bathroom relaxes you with its familiarity

Wow that gives you the kicks?... (same 😂 🔫 ) however I beg to differ domestic flying doesn't feel like actual flying while international flying does in a weird kind of way even though I pay 150 one way on the golden triangle to Sydney just to fly and enjoy the lounge on departure and arrival (yes the lounge sucks but at least it is free and I feel I am getting the value? Note to self: I am not😭). You've never met a conservative parent: stocks and land too risky lah put it all in high interest rate savings account/bond
