QR withholding award seats from Qantas?

Hopefully not related but most BA flights 12 months out to LHR in J seem to have vanished from QF booking system to book with points .....
Have you been able to see them on other oneworld airlines?

Even with 3 days Business Class is no longer available and only Economy via Qantas.

This doesn't just seem to be a Qantas issue. I don't think partners (generally) are getting access to QR J seats at the moment. There's another thread about this somewhere.

As far as I can see, the 3/28 day rule still applies - but that doesn't mean that QFF members necessarily will get access to J seats 3 days out. It's just that the *extra* QFF block gets removed then.

Velocity still does last time I looked.

Do you have an example of a QR J flight that's available to book through Velocity for departure within the next 3 days, but isn't available through QFF?

FWIW I'm not seeing much QR J availability through AAdvantage right now.

The funny thing is I couldn’t see J fares but on BKK-DOH with Velocity there is at least 2x seats F availability on nearly every flight for the next 3 days.
QF shows zero F availability for even 1 seat over that period

I have noticed a lot more QR J availability with VA in the last 1-2 weeks, so this explains it.

Nothing has changed on the partner front. All that occurred is QR dumped a huge amount of award availability to partners about 10 days ago. Available to anyone that has access (ie BA/AA/VA).
Yeah, have noticed a fair bit more over the last few days. A heap of DOH-ADL in March opened up so I grabbed them for the dates I wanted

I managed to snag CPH-DOH-MEL for mid-April in J through Velocity, and there was heaps of other availability too on QR (including on the way over to FCO at the start of school holidays, although I booked that leg on EK F through QF, astronomical carrier charges and all). The same itineraries were available on AA, AS and BA. So yes, QR's providing plenty of availability.

Of course, for QF, there's nothing on QR.

(A tip if booking QR through VA is to look sector by sector. I'd initially booked CPH-DOH-ADL-MEL, online but noticed a quirk of the booking engine on VA in that it didn't show a complete itinerary for CPH-DOH-MEL for the Europe-DOH and DOH-Oz legs, either because the layover was too long (9 hours) or the sectors were on different days (not sure which). Calling in, they were able to book it for me - and I didn't have to spend half an hour on hold either, unlike the usual experience when calling Qantas! (There was plenty of SQ availability too).

So I mainly use Asia Miles and Qatar has also restricted booking access to 120 days. This really makes doing around the world difficult, as another person Perth Based. Now you really can only get in and out with Cathay and Malaysia. Qantas award availability out of Perth is horrid.
Curious to know how far in advance you can book Qatar on Velocity if anyone knows.

I don’t know the answer but know that there are J reward seats to DOH ex ADL for December as I’ve already been looking

Wow, that's a huge bonus for Velocity members to get award availability 350 days out. I can see flights to DOH ex Adelaide on AA. But they will not show on Cathay until 120 out.

Both the direct flight and the one via MEL have J availability for 2 seats in December
The one via MEL is actually $5 cheaper and get to spend extra time in the QSuite and some lounge time in MEL. Bonus is it gives ADL pax the option to get into DOH at night rather than early morning if they want

If one has QF Plat or above, the flight via Melbourne arrives in MEL just in time for lunch in the FLounge. Very civilised.
