I stayed in a hotel yesterday using my "free" night. I charged a restaurant meal to my room. The stay appeared in my account today as 1 status night. Also the $140 shelled out for the "free" night doesn't earn status points or a status night.

Used my free night at Sofitel Queenstown this year and room was $740 per night.Coming up for membership renewal in a month. I'm doubtful of the value of paying $140 extra for a "free" night, which appears to only buy a discount in some cases, and for which availability appears to be haphazard except in properties where there is little or no benefit. Also the $140 shelled out for the "free" night doesn't earn status points or a status night. IIRC the "free" night is only available in tandem with a paid night at the property. Please let me know if I have any of this wrong.

Pullman Maldives won’t as they don’t participate in the program.Sorry for the impost and I know it's a long shot but hoping someone can advise if there is any free night availability between 1 and 20 Jan at either the Fairmont Maldives (preference Jungle Villa) or Pullman Maldives (preference Beach Villa) for 2A 2C?
And are the Accor Plus rates 10% off the current flash sale prices?
Thanks so much.
Thanks for the super quick reply. Apologies - I meant Movenpick rather than Pullman and looking to stay for ~7 nights. Also interested in the price of the 7night AI package available to Accor Plus Members (say check in 11 Jan). Grateful advice.Pullman Maldives won’t as they don’t participate in the program.
Fairmont would need a 3n stay minimum but haven’t looked to see if any free nights are available
