Al Baker Is Leaving QR

The suddeness makes me wonder if it is for health reasons. :(
 
Very sudden indeed. He was recently demoted from from the Qatari tourism position so perhaps he wasn’t seeing eye to eye with the government?
Cant see the position of CEO not being filled by a Qatari National though
 
Will we see QR reward flights return to QFF….

He's being replaced by the head of the airport. It would be like QF CEO being replaced by QF Group Executive, Associated Airlines and Services.
 
So AlB is going to be the Adviser to the Foreign Minister.
and it parses back to Transport Minister KK....

I can see a question for KK...

Additionally i wonder if this has anything to do with the current situation up the road?

Sounds like he’s undoing a few of his predecessor‘s decisions - many never made a lot of sense eg he was never a fan of First class - period.

Perhaps the changes at the top of QR and QF might open the door to new negotiations? 😉
