It's one thing to be spotted by the hotel employee but spotted by work colleagues would be next level..narrowly missed being spotted by my colleagues in the lobby wearing a bathrobe
Ooh. I did that in the Hyatt Melbourne, Collins Street, and was in my nightie! Not even a bathrobe and no shoes on. Had to go down to the front deskI'll 'fess up - decided to have room service whilst attending a conference in Sydney. As I was putting the tray outside the door, yep, it closed
Fortunately I had a bit more on than you @Quickstatus (and Malcolm Fraser) but narrowly missed being spotted by my colleagues in the lobby wearing a bathrobe!
Think you are forgiven for your nightie escapade @Pushka !Ooh. I did that in the Hyatt Melbourne, Collins Street, and was in my nightie! Not even a bathrobe and no shoes on. Had to go down to the front desk
My excuse is that husband was in Epworth hospital - he was in Melbourne for a business trip and smashed his elbow when he tripped over a tram barrier in the street. He broke off the elbow completely and had surgery to install a prosthetic elbow. I got the phone call late at night and flew in the next day. A taxi driver saw him lying in the gutter and got him into the cab and dropped him back to the Hyatt. Didn't charge a fee but of course I sorted that out when I got there.
I think I was so stressed I didn't even think about embarassment at the time. It's only later you remember the details.Think you are forgiven for your nightie escapade @Pushka !
Sounds like a tale for “you know you’re a frequent flyer when…”@JessicaTam will recall this (unfortunately). I was in the bar at the Hilton in Adelaide with some AFFers and bought a round of drinks (no, true!). Barkeeper couldn't find the room number I gave, with my name, to charge. New staff! I thought. No training!! I repeated the name and room number, but they still couldn't find it. Grrrrr.
Then it dawned. I wasn't actually staying at the Hilton.![]()
I still remember that JT was quite explicit in what she thought about that ....![]()
