Pretty sure you need any AMEX AU card and wait 3 months to develop a relationship with AU AMEX before applying via GT. If your aim is MR points you're best to apply for an AU card with a decent MR bonus so you can transfer them to US AMEX
Kinda gobsmacked, but I put a few thousand worth of spend on the card later that evening, transaction has posted and I'm now OUT of pop-up jail and successfully approved for my 3rd GT! I think that might be the cause of my pop up jail issue - my spending on my Green card has tailed off the last...
I need some TK miles (desired flights much cheaper on Miles and Smiles than other *A) and the only way to get them is via Cap 1, Citi or Bonvoy cards. Chase is off limits until mid 2024 as I am 6/24.
Cap 1 Venture looked good but I saw this on FT which worries me.

If the card can't be used overseas, I can't make the minimum spend. Everything I would be charging is in AUD.
There may be delays on getting the physical card because of my friend having health problems. But he can take a photo of the card and send that to me so I can use it online. Hopefully the website has that feature to turn the card off and on so it is unuseable unless I turn it on.
Ideally I would report it lost and try to get Cap 1 to send me a replacement in Australia.
Does anyone else have experience with Cap 1 Venture?
My back up plan is Citi Premier but they only offer 60k and Cap 1 is offering 75k.
Or maybe Amex Bonvoy Bevy but the annual fee is $250 and I don't use Bonvoy hotels, I have enough from IHG and Hilton.
Thank you to everyone who has given time to get this up and running
Spent nearly 3 days to read all
Have everything ready to apply just setting up TextNow - did you change you app store to USA to be able to do it - says not available in Australia - I assume change - set up app and then return to Australia?

Looks like they just talked about accessing an online account while overseas. There won't be any issue if you can receive text. Cards can be used overseas just fine. You can also lock/unlock cards on both website and app. I have heard people having some issue getting Cap1 to send cards overseas.
