American Air ,Can I use my points to book another person on a flight without me flying

Yes, you absolutely can. There are no restrictions regarding who you can book for, unlike Qantas FF where the passenger must be a relative.

Note though there have been reports of people being questioned and even accounts frozen where the airline questioned whether this was a sale of points. So you should be aware of this possibility and have a good answer if they ask why you’d want to use your points for someone else.

Absolutely this. AA is well known for this. They take a very liberal view of ‘bartering’ points - which they prohibit. They froze the account of a guy who bought tickets for him and his mate for a holiday. His mate bought the accommodation. AA deemed it bartering :(

Understand 💀

The only restriction that I’ve found is that the credit card used for payment must be in the same name as AA account holder.
