Heading off on DL next week out of Sydney. Picked up their 30 days $90 offer for access to their SkyClub lounges. 5 hrs layovers @ in LAX both ways with family attached made it a bargain opportunity in terms of $ cost to get in the lounge plus costs of loitering in the terminal. But - going out of Sydney - won't be able to access QP - does anyone know if Delta have linked up to an affiliated lounge? The web page indicates that International partner lounges are only in Paris and Amsterdam - I am hoping that it needs an update...

Thanks

Chris

As it turned out - DL have organised reciprocal access to the AirNZ lounge for SkyClub Members. Seems to be very new as there was a bit of confusion going in even with 'permanent - card carrying' SkyClub members let alone 90 day temp members.

But once inside - wow! Qantas could certainly learn a thing or 2 about supplying quality breakfasts in the lounge (at least the Melbourne International lounge).. very comfortable.

Thx for the follow up cjl3195. There have been good reports re NZ lounge...pleased to see your access and experience worked out well. QF may have a little catching up to do.

Yes, will definitely keep this in mind... if Delta are $90 cheaper than QF for flying definitely will level the playing field for people with QP membership...

Is the $90 30 day membership a limited time offer? Does SkyClub give you other QP like perks like baggage and premium check in?

And are the bars free in the evening (like QP) or cash bars (Like AA)?

From what i have read about skyclubs, bars are free. But i dont remember seeing any baggage benefits.

Back @ LAX at the moment and yes beverages are complimentary although at most lounges you are expected to tip the server (call it a $1 special)

No baggage benefits with temp membership - but you do get to use the medallion member/premier lanes through security with a 30 day pass - also a big advantage at LAX.

30 days - $90 seems to be the regular Delta deal - well worth it even if you are just transiting through LA both ways - especially with family in tow.

It's been a couple of years since I used the Koru lounge when flying TG J, but was extremely impressed with them, the food standard was way above that of the QP's.
