Surely the more cynical amongst us aren't thinking that QF welcome the restrictions as if the bottles go back in the fridge they are less likely to be emptied....

And also the fact that it would add extra work for their staff, having to serve out wine in plastic cups...

Well a lot of QLD pollies are Chairman's lounge attendees-must have some first hand experience of the dangerous acts that are perpetrated there

according to Tony fitzgerald more like commoncents and lots of them.

Someone must have realised they'd be affected in the Chairman's Lounge as well... There are many CL's in the Qld Govt.

QF Club off the list

THE Queensland Government has removed the Qantas Club from its list of “high risk” licensed venues that were targeted in response to an increase in “glassing” incidents (TD Tue). A QF spokesman said “we would
not expect our Brisbane airport lounges to be targeted in any way
just because they are licensed to serve alcohol at a particular time”
according to the Courier Mail.
“Qantas is a strong supporter of responsible service of alcohol and
all our employees working in this area are appropriately trained,”
he said. UTC’s

"Whilst they qualify for examination under one part of the criteria, that is they operate after 3am, there's other guidelines and criteria such as their previous history.
Perhaps may have been more accurate to say "they are licensed to operate after 3am". I doubt either the BNE domestic or International Qantas Club lounges have ever actually been open and serving alcohol anywhere near 3am.

The domestic club was serving champers one morning at 5AM when Australia beat Japn in the world cup a few years ago, but its hardly a nightspot!
