Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

None of the KLM -700s are EDTO certified and are all Y configured, whereas the 2x legacy VB -700s are EDTO certified.

I never said they'd use a KLM -700 ... I said they would need to backfill the aircraft (on domestic operations)

There's gonna be a lot of pax rebooked - assuming the 737-8 flights were full (which they may well not have been, considering VA never zeroed them out).
Doubtful they were full or near full. Some flights are full in business class and that's it. Inaugural flight still has seats to purchase.
 
Seat Map websites usually listed a handful of Y seats available in the first 2 weeks across a number of flights. Although not really representative of the situation if a few booked passengers decide to let the agent allocate their seats on the day of departure/check-in.
 
Will the 700s be load restricted? Might make for a comfortable flight after all ....

They are not full by any stretch (see upthread).

Perhaps apart from the one VA2 booked out themselves for media of course but even that still has seats available… 😆

Will a 737 7 reach Haneda from Cairns? Wet Lease another aircraft? (Maybe ironically a 330 or something?)

I really hope they take the time to now for the 2x 737-700s with power (usb in Y) and maybe even sat wifi.

These are long flights and on the 737-700s it’s going to be terribly boring, the inaugural is blocked at 7hrs 45mins!

With the exact same number of J seats it appears if the 737-700s are fine then J is not the issue, Y is 168 vs 120 meaning 48 seats difference to move but aside from that no a major issue unless further load requirements but J would be the last to be bumped!
 
Most Flights would not be at 90% capacity for those affected in those weeks, so there would be minimal (if any) bumping of Y passengers. Also taking into consideration any load restrictions on the VB era -700s.

I've said it before, I very much doubt it will be launching with anywhere near 128 pax. Weather dependent, but I think it will be well south of 100. It's a very long flight with long ETOPS segments.

Strangely they still have 7M8 on the GDS so we can't spy and see how many seats have been blocked.
