An interesting read, and I would probably agree with this. It has been even harder than usual to use points lately as people have accumulated more points during the pandemic and then all want to use them at the same time - just as capacity is reduced.

 
We’ve certainly seen plenty of threads and discussions on flight rewards but not surprising I guess that LL is flagging similar issues with Hotel redemptions creeping up.

It’s something I don’t recall being discussed much here but I’ve certainly noticed huge increases in “standard” reward nights at fairly ordinary hotels across the US. The double whammy is everywhere in the US seems to be hideously expensive at the moment for paid rates.

The other implication of course is that, if 2023 was the worst year, then 2024 will likely be better.
