The early A350 IIRC just had window shades.
Then AB offered dimmables but not sure if they also came with old school window shades

Happy to be wrong - again😀
Qatar used to have a 350s on their run out of Adelaide and I was going to say I was pretty sure they had normal window shades. This is a fair few years ago of course.

I'm wondering if anyone (airline) has taken up the airbus dimmable window option - I hadn't heard of any (but had heard that it was going to be offered - and that was some time back)

Yes the A350s I have flown on definitely had physical window shades.
I thought these were retained and the dimming offered as an additional feature in recent models.
But I could be wrong.

I prefer dimmable windows :)
At least on QF, I find there's no issue asking the crew to unlock them in my experience.

Starlux are the first with the dimmable A350 windows, you can see them briefly in this flight review (6:40):
There is no physical window shade.

Well that's no good. The dimmest is not blockout. Not much better than 787.

Basically another gushing review which seem to populate YouTube these days. .. but anyhoo...
