What common aircraft type have you never flown on?

The only western commercial jet aircraft I have not flown on are:

717 - gonna be fixed by an upcoming flight (hopefully!)
a220 - plenty of time on this one I hope!

Probably not falling under the label ‘common’ I missed out on the:
Dassault mercure
Convair 880/990 (just too rare when they were around!)

They were great! There used to be lots doing the short runways of WA. Including LEA (that isn’t exactly short!)

The qualifier for this thread is "common"

Some might say the DC3 is not common but if the A380 only has about 200 in service, the DC3 is therefore "common" with more than 100 still operational

Someone may have more accurate numbers.

Anyone who have not sat in a QF767 can still do so. They are still flying...

Yes… plenty of DC-9s, most, if not all variants. And same for the MD-80s.

IMO, Never been an official 717. Just a rebadged DC-9

If you look closely at Brisbane domestic (QF gates), some of the gates have stop positions for MD83 (meaning B717).

It's a bit like how it's a De Havilland Canada Dash 8 (-300) but a Bombardier Dash 8 (Q400) - although as fate would have it they resurrected the DHC brand so it's back to a DHC Q400.

When it was under Bombardier they really downplayed the Dash 8 name and referred to it as just Q400, to make it sound like a more modern aircraft (which it is). Always officially the Dash 8 though.

Not flown:
- any military plane (jet or prop) except for one - type unknown - during 1989 pilots strike -ADL-SYD
- no Russian or Chinese built plane
- Concorde
- most single engine planes (except for 3 x Cessnas)
- Fokkers built before 1970s
- Boeings before 727
- most planes built before 1970s
