I do like the planning and booking phase.

I just booked and deposited a tour in 2024 and frustrated the second tour I want to do can't be confirmed for 4 months and I can't book any reward flights more than 12 months out 😬

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

What prompted my statement was that I’m still putting the finishing touches onto the Xmas/NY holidays (flights and accom sorted - transfers and some activities still being booked). But, I can now get away a couple of days early so have just pretty quickly researched and booked six flights to append to the start of the trip (apparently that should be ‘prepend’ to add before the subject or thing being added to). Now to find accom related to them.

I’ve also convinced the family that for a holiday in late Apr / early May we’ll take advantage of some decent TK J fares so going to book those as well.

Planning March-April 2023 trip to Thailand and its stressful for the first time in a long long time.

Airfares are now $2000+ per person. Forget awards. I managed to find one using Scoot for 2 legs of 4 legs and it was $3900 for the 3 of us but when I went to pay no Afterpay as total was >$3000.

Booked wife and daughter for $2500 using Afterpay then went to book mine and all of sudden Webjet is charging +$55 for booking and holding fee and airfare for me was just over $1500 and couldn't use Afterpay as it just went over the $3000 credit. For crying out loud in bucket.

Flybuys don't do interbational open jaws unless you send a request by email to Corporate travel. Found the same flights for $1350 on Expedia so will book tomorrow morning. By the way everywhere I check Expedia is supposed to accept Afterpay but can't find the option on website.

Staying 10 nights Pattaya and 9 days in house in Chiang Mai. Wife and daughter staying 3 nights in Pattaya with me then going to Chiang Mai early as wife has lots to do. Tried finding cheap hotel for me for 7 nights. Cheap?

Hotels I wouldn't stay in when they were $25/night during peak are now $40+/night. The $40-$60/night hotels we stayed in regularly are now $75-$100/night and they haven't been refurbished since Covid. I'll find some bargain somewhere.

But the best part of all and one to enjoy the most for the time being is enjoy Thailand before the mass tourists return.

When you searching flights always clear your cookies. All airlines and major booking sites track your searches and when they know you definitely interested, inflate the prices offered when you go back second or third time.

Too Late! was in Thailand late Oct/Early November and the place was heaving with tourists. (admittedly we were in the south, not up north (Chang Mai etc)

I love the planning and working out which flight and when and and and
Due to a couple of reasons I won't be travelling till at least July 2023. Sooo organising a couple of weeks in in UK in Dec . Having so much fun where do we start, which hotel, which tours lol
Can definitely relate :)
