Trying to get seats from NYC (JFK/EWR) to anywhere in Europe and want to avoid BA for their crazy taxes. Any way to search only finnair reward seats, perhaps on another airlines search engine?

Or any other alternatives for flying from east coast USA to Europe?

Thanks

Search by arrival city and use multi-city tool

If you want to see:
* AY search JFK/EWR to HEL, then HEL - Euro destination
* IB search JFK/EWR to MAD/BCN then MAD/BCN to Euro destination you want
* QR search JFK/EWR to DOH then DOH to Euro destination
* If not part of a OWA you can also search for EK options via DXB

Whenever I've searched LHR to JFK (or vice versa) if in Y i get AA and BA options, but in J the QF engine always seems to offer only BA flights. BA taxes are cheaper than EK taxes in premium cabins, and if your final destination is not LHR, then taxes should be lower than if you are entering UK via LHR.

You could also try searching out of other east coast cities like Philadelphia

Also join other OW FF schemes and search. You never have to be active. For example I got a JMB account some 15 years ago.Never earnt a mile but I still use it to see what JAL awards are available.

AA should be the easiest. Don’t even need to sign up.
Trying AA.com but they don't always reflect on Qantas.

For some reason Finnair won't let me login! I sign up and then it says my username/pw are not recognised and nor can I forget my PW either. I'll try again later.

I tried with a final destination outside of LHR but it's still virtually the same in taxes :(

I'll keep searching routes for now. Thanks for the Philadelphia idea but doesn't seem to have any routes that I can see (looking at early June 2023).

I should add I'm trying to do this as part of a OWCA so multi-leg segments is difficult.

Except for departures ex UK, the vast bulk of BA’s ‘taxes’ are not taxes… they are fuel surcharges. Hence why the figure doesn’t really drop much.

Until recently - dunno if it’s changed - BA’s incredible trans-atlantic surcharges we’re reduced significantly if those flights were included in. oneworld award, bookended with other flights: ie, stand-alone BA transatlantic is gonna cost you big time.

I found alaska airline’s booking tool helpful, it shows finnair and you can exclude BA. If logging on to a specific airline) e site note that some availability may be restricted to members of that program only and may not be available via partners.
