I booked SYD-BKK economy award for late August for 25,200 QFF points.

That same award is now 17,600 QFF points.

Is there a charge for cancelling awards? Rebook and save 7,600 QFF points.

No charge until the end of the year. But book the new seats first.

Is there a reason why one would need to book new seats first? I'd have 2 seats on same flight so wouldn't want to leave it that way more than a few hours.

In case they're suddenly not available and you're left without a seat. It's happened to me before....

Just to make sure that once you cancel your current seats there are new ones for you.

If there are extra seats already you could cancel the existing and book new ones. But otherwise can’t rely on your current seats going back into inventory if those are the same ones you want to rebook.

It takes only seconds for someone else to start booking those seats which takes them out of inventory.

And they may not go back into award inventory anyway eg if demand now is different to demand when they weee first released. The revenue modelling is COMPLEX!

Meh, Economy only as per usual. Zero interest to me.
