A little help on moving millions of Amex points

Could I request the collective suggestions of AFF community...
We have quite a few Amex points earned through our business account. We are charged a fee by Amex but still works out attractive when redeeming for business/F flights. They are changing our transfer redemption rates from next month from 3 points for 2 airline miles to 2 for 1.. I stand to loose 4 million miles if I do nothing !!!! Question ?? where would members transfer points to ( thankfully QF & V rates not changing) but Asia, Emirates, Etihad, Singapore, Thai, Virgin Atlantic will be affected. I need to consider program expiry dates, hefty fuel surcharges etc,etc,
Singapore is my preferred option but the 3-4 years expiry is obviously a worry....
Already have enough family members that have made the obvious suggestions !!

Singapore points are being devalued (by themselves) in a month or so as well. Previously would have said Asia Miles but I dumped my stash of AM points on gift cards, etc, a few months ago as I don't know what is going to happen with them in the future.

I honestly think VA might be the way to go on this one at present. Plus given they are not changing, you can just leave the points in Amex for now and revisit if/when you need to transfer the points.

Have you considered opening a US Amex account and transferring there ?

Have you considered opening a US Amex account and transferring there ?

thought there may be residency issues....but I will make some enquiries to see if I could open and maybe have the option of US amex rules for transferring...

Personally would move a proportion into SQ that you might use before expiry, maybe lock in some redemptions before the devaluation (though still better value than EY, EK, VS). Wouldn't risk CX myself. There is good value in QF for oneworld awards and who knows what will happen with VA:SQ transfers but neither are changing as said

that is the way i'm thinking....better to have a problem with SQ expiry in 3-4 years time than loose though amex devaluation (in my case) after 2/7/22 ....still researching whether EK could be good if using partner airlines that don't have massive fuel charges ?

Some thoughts as someone who has racked up their fair chunk of membership rewards points. Generally speaking, I would not encourage you to move membership rewards points to any frequent flyer program unless and until you have a plan on using them. I say this as someone who is struggling to burn through 100,000+ Avios points earned through transferring my AmEx points to them. Frankly you need to start look at where you are flying to see what awards are available with which airlines. In some cases you will find the best value out of upgrading by points. After all, why bother burning 200,000 miles to fly United Polaris to Los Angeles when you can upgrade from a cheap economy ticket for just 30,000 miles?
