AMEX Travel hotel offer question

Hello everyone,
I am planning to book some nights at Hilton Sydney via Amex Travel.
They currently have a USD$100 hotel credit and room upgrade offer for hotel bookings.

Just want to ask if anyone has taken advantage of this offer ?
And did the hotel recognise the hotel credit and also give a room upgrade ?

Are you booking through THC The Hotel Collection via the Amex Travel website?

My experience booking through there and staying at the Hilton Sydney. They do give the property credit of $100US but not a room upgrade. When I mentioned the room upgrade they said I had already been upgraded when in fact the room they were giving me was the one I've actually booked.

Good to know that they honoured the property credit. But i hate hotels using all kinds of excuses to deny a room upgrade.
