My first Thai Pass application was rejected because I didn't advise the hotel of my PCR test booking.

I received notification from both the hotel and Thai Pass.

I have now advised the hotel of my appointment number and provided a screenshot and will reapply for the Thai Pass.

Sorry, bit OT. Where do you stay in coughet? I'm looking at options. Never been there before.

Currently have a booking at Le Méridien in an Ocean View, 1-Bedroom Suite, mid May.
Seems like a nice place.
Hey Guvner. Not really sure where we will stay yet, also haven't been before, very dependent on what the current requirements are. There are some amazing options though aren't there? As a family of 6 adults we're most likely going to opt for a pool villa maybe around Kamala Beach or Nai Harn, but I would also appreciate any suggestions anyone can give. Hope you have a great trip.

So I have notified the hotel of the PCR test details and then redid the Thai Pass application.

Got through to the end and then there was an error. A quick google search said it was a frequent error and to use Chrome. ‼️

I used Chrome and it worked. Now fingers crossed.

Hi Guvner - I have stayed at Le Meridien coughet 3 or 4 times pre-Covid and it is an amazing resort. Highly recommend it. Ocean view suite will be teriffic. Last time we had a Ocean View Terrace which is one category below the suite I think amazing service, lovely resort, private beach. Rooms are dated but still perfectly fine. And the resort is very well maintained. I have booked again for June - fingers crossed!

Thanks for the handy insight on the resort. I've stumbled across a view other forums which suggest coughet in general is pretty grubby and run down at the moment so am considering Koh Samui. Anywhere is a gamble at the moment I suppose.

And the saga continues. I entered the wrong passport number on the PCR test booking and because it doesn't match the Thai Pass has been rejected.

No idea if I can change the passport number or if I need to rebook and repay for the tests. At THB4,200 it could be an expensive mistake.

Lived in coughet for a year, last year - depends on what type of stay/experience you're after.

@Guvner @Unuuusual Lived in Chalong last year. Nai Harn beach is magic, and where all the local expats go. Highly recommend that area.

I'm sitting in the lounge at Marriot Marquis in Sukhumvit Soi 22, eleven hours after arriving in Bangkok for the first time in almost 2 years and I wanted to give you all my first hand experience of Thailand's Test & Go Quarantine Program.

So I flew to Thailand with SQ, and the transit requirements were the same in Singapore, as Thailand arrivals, so no problem there. I'd applied successfully for the Thai Pass over a week ago, and that's really all SQ needed after viewing my PCR test and vaccination certificate.

The Thai Pass was easy enough to apply for and I took up their AXA insurance, even though I had a comprehensive coverage already, it was just easier.

So, when I landed in Bangkok, I was stopped mid way to immigration for a document check. I had completed on the plane a health declaration, and had my other paperwork ready. Quick check, a stamp and off to immigration. Bangkok immigration used to be famous for queues, so my APEC card used to be VERY valuable. This time, straight up, no queue and out to baggage.

I'd chosen Marriott Marquis as my SHA+ hotel. So for the 1st night you have to buy a package including the room, PCR test and airport transfer. I found the representative and I was in the car in 2-3 mins. From getting off the plane to being in the car, it would have been no more than 20 mins, and I spent ten minutes waiting for bags.

Marriott Marquis don't test onsite, so I was taken to a drive through test at a Central Bangkok hospital. Just dropped the window, swab taken, and off we went to the hotel.

I've read stories of hotels taking guests to their rooms and not giving them keys and told to come out when they get a negative result to get room keys etc. Not at Marriott Marquis. Check in as normal. Given keys, and sent to my room. No meals were included, so after a short nap, I called room service for lunch, which arrived an hour later (apparently very busy with quarantining guests).

By 3pm, I was on a work zoom call and the phone rung telling me I was negative and hence free to roam. 6 hours after arriving in the hotel, I was clear.

Whilst personally any quarantine is frustrating now, this was simple enough, but I wouldn't want to have to do it for too much longer. Hopefully it's gone by mid this year, let's see.

Another side note...Bangkok is a far cry from the city I loved visiting up until March 2020. I would be in Bangkok 6-8 times a year in the past, so I know it well. Just in the small block I walked today, so many of my preferred restaurants, shops, bars were gone... not just temporarily closed, they were vacant or boarded up. Hopefully tourists return in numbers soon, but it will take so many years to start to recovery.

hello there,

how's your trip through Thailand going? My girlfriend and I are looking to head over mid March and are glad that they've dropped the day 5 quarantine requirement. Am going through the Test n Go application, and was wondering if these are ever declined? The commitment of paying for flights, SHA+ hotel, testing costs and insurance, only to have it knocked back is a bit of a worry. We were hoping to use QFF points to fly out of Melbourne (or Syd or Bris if necessary), but it seems QANTAS has removed all direct reward options. Are things picking up in Bkk?

Nice report @BensAdventures.

We chose 7 nights coughet Sandbox for wife and daughter next month due to uncertainty of Test and Go and I think little one will enjoy coughet.

In May Im going to do the Test and Go in Pattaya for 7 nights so I can play some golf too. Really miss the golf.
Cheers John. Hopefully by May things have started to open up a lot more, the tourism sector there are screaming for more flexibility.

I'm sure it must get declined at some point, but it's really quite an easy process if you follow the guidelines. Mine was approved in 2-3 days I think.

As for things picking up, there is still plenty to do in Bangkok, and every week that tourists are coming back, things will start to feel a little better. Just don't expect things to be like they were.
