2022 travel plans

Hoping on going for a memorial service for a friend who has passed away during covid, in England. As I as in Perth, I am reluctant to book until after the 5th February, our supposed day of freedom. Not sure what changes will happen between now and then

Sounds good! We have a family (re-booked of course!) trip planned for mid year a bit in reverse of you - a couple of weeks in YVR visiting friends, then a few weeks in MUC visiting family and departing from GVA. Will see how we go! What time of year are you heading off?
Departing Sydney on June 29 brought forward from July 4 when better SQ awards became available. Returning home Sept 6. More detailed itinerary - Munich, Kitzbuhel, Lake Wolfgang, Berchtesgarten, Stuttgart, Zermatt, Vancouver, Whistler.

Booked Europe for 3 weeks in July :) Managed to get J awards both ways with JL/AY.

I have a 42-day trip to the 5 Stans booked for June 22. It was postponed from 2020 to 2021 to 2022, but now it looks as though I could miss out again, by a few weeks of being 'let out'. 😣
Hmm, so due to borders that don't look like opening any time soon and civil unrest in Kazahkstan, this has been postponed again, until 2023. Hopefully 3rd time lucky.
I had been investigating an expedition cruise along the N.E coast of Russia, then realised the dates clashed with my nephew's wedding. So now ... I don't know.

I am due to travel to Europe/UK at he end of feb. That includes a 3 day stopover in Bangkok.and now I'm having serious buyers regret. The Thai pass looks like a nightmare and I've read about some borrowing experiences. I'd appreciate any feedback from anyone who may have been through this!

We are due to travel to the US and maybe Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico in September - October. Hopefully, I can book a travel bank or rewards flight via Virgin.

I always wanted to catch one of the boat trains from London to France - I think they finished in 1980

Now I can catch the train from Milan to Sicily - on my bucket list now

There are quite a few trip reports on YouTube of similar journeys in Italy

Just booked trip to west coast of USA and Hawaii May/June for 8 weeks taking in LA , San Fran, Napa, Yosemite, Tahoe, Death Valley, Palm Springs . Grand Canyon and Nashville then 2 weeks in Maui on way back 😀. Managed to get Qantas reward seats in J on way over. Still looking for best option for return . Fed up waiting to travel. Retired to travel then one month later covid hit 🤬

Well back in September last year I optimistically booked J Award seats on JAL to Japan this coming April. But that is still in doubt as Japan is yet to open, so we may look at Vietnam or Thailand instead if need be. See how we go..

I am thinking of SYD-LAX-PORTLAND-SPAIN-SYD. Now there are some value trips on sandpit airlines to syd-spain-return for 1300-1400 with long layovers odd, with EU rule changability. I do not like booking OW to USA, then USD 600 odd? for rtn to LAX-Spain thataway. I looked at RTW and see the usual suspects (QF out, back via SIN) but no sandpit airline back from Europe to SYD. Looks like the club is trying to cut out oily airlines. Next I notice RTW says no change fees, then the gall to say $77 passenger service fee for changes. I am also concerned OW to USA without a booked flight out may give me grief. Brother a resident, I can stay in Portland till he can lastminuitis jam a ski trip in on the way to Spain.
