Australian state border restrictions

He was the bloke that caused a bit of mayhem and cancellations on our trip down there.
Would have preferred to see him spend the whole 6 months in prison šŸ¤£

Note, from the article:

He received another five months' jail with two months suspended for breaching family violence orders.

Gunn was given a total sentence of 10 months' with four months suspended, meaning he will remain in prison until at least April next year.

Fixes half the problem I guess. Testing in Sydney is near impossible at the moment. Just heard my local is closing again due to ā€œthe heatā€. Wait has been about 2 hours all day apparently.
I was at another Inner West one today at 3.50 - itā€™s well off main roads and itā€™s not an area you cut through to get elsewhere. Queue was about 40 mins along and orderly at side of road. I was 10 cars from front and they closed it.

Reason - council called and directed they close immediately to ensure streets were clear for peak hour trafficā€¦

off topic epitaph moment

Here lies John Bunn
he was shot by a Gunn
His name was not Bunn, but Wood
Wood would not rhyme with Gunn, but Bunn would.

Preparing to fly to MEL on Christmas Eve. The wheels are bound to come off this week!

South Australia have come out and said the 72 hour pre test will be the next one out the door, perhaps sooner than we think because of the ā€˜pressure itā€™s putting on other statesā€™.

Sounds like NSW and VIC have made some phone calls ;)

Fantastic, so make it happen Nicola!

Yeah, Iā€™ve got a work trip to MEL tomorrow and then back tomorrow night. We then fly to CBR on Christmas Eve to visit my parents and then a flight down to MEL for Day 1 of the Boxing Day test before returning to CBR for a few more days. Iā€™m almost certain something is going to come unstuck

I would think it wonā€™t be until we get to the magic 90% mark which should be around New Years. Would be great if it was sooner

NSW testing now falling apart too. Iā€™m sure this will be top of the list at Nat Cab - pre interstate travel has to disappearā€¦

Personally I think the requesting state should pay for the ā€˜tourism testā€™

NSW's COVID-19 testing sites under 'massive pressure', Health Minister says

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard concedes the state's COVID-19 testing system is under "massive pressure" as clinics turn people away and wait times blow out.

Many sites across NSW are being forced to close early as they buckle under the strain and run out of equipment due to people rushing to get tests before holiday travel and COVID-19 cases in the state continuing to grow.

Sounds like spin to me - NSW were doing similar levels of testing during the Delta outbreak/lockdown (a factor back then was the assymptomatic testing of authorised/critical workers)

Im still very wary
Tomorrow ADL-MEL-ADL
Friday ADL-CBR
Sunday CBR-MEL-CBR
Tuesday CBR-ADL
Just have a feeling something will turn to mud

Oh sorry I didnā€™t realise Madelaide was in the mix. Good luck to you šŸ˜‚ EDIT: Honestly I think you will be fine :)

Who cares either way itā€™s clearly working as SA is starting to back down.

I believe I read (and open to correction) that Sunday was a record day for tests, including at peak delta.
