The European Union has extended the law that bans EU telcos from imposing extra charges when roaming in other EU states until at least 2032. The "roam like at home" rules are what have enabled easy roaming throughout Europe, but were due to expire.

What an awful shame about Brexit - it would be a lot easier if the UK was in the EU

I still have an active GiffGaff sim/account in desperate need of use. It’ll be interesting to see if they still offer Euro roaming. I’ll report back if I see anything.

I still have a 3 UK active but during the pandemic I couldn't use it at all outgoing - could receive texts but not voicemails. It's attached to my UK bank account so I just sent the SIM to a friend in England and he keeps an eye on it.

Fortunately mine doesn’t have credit on it (it’s also prepaid). They were going to cancel it just a few weeks ago but I stuck it in a phone and attempted a call on the remaining 5p credit and that’s seem to have extended it’s life….
