I use text now. Do you know if it works for chase verifications etc ?

No . Just contact . They will guide you . State purpose is for bank acoustic / cc . Ask for Aff discount .Or use code expressitin.
Chase verification needs Postpaid SIM.

I've re-evaluated my options and decided that you're probably right and I'm going to pursue a Hilton Aspire Amex from the US

So, to summarise 114 pages of discussion that has often speared off on wild tangents ........ 😁,

1. setup a myUS account and go for the Premium option. Not assured of working but more likely than the freebie (they do a manual assessment of your 'application' to open an account - how quaint;)) Waiting on my to be opened

2. Use Apartment (Apt) instead of Suite in the address line - seems to have worked for others

3. Setup a US cell phone number. The online process for a Google Voice number doesn't work anymore because one of the intermediary sites has shut down. I've gone with the OpenPhone App and hope that it can accept texts from system generated security systems

But a couple of further questions ....

a. has anybody - non US citizens - had any issues with FATCA? I remember changing my Citi cell phone contact from a +61 to a +1 for the duration of a 4wk visit to the US (to accommodate any text challenges to purchases made on my Citi credit card) and I was inundated with paperwork when I got back to Australia. Sorted it but can do without the agro'

b. I have Citi and HSBC accounts that can pay off the card and accommodate the "for further credit" process that is required. But I aslo have a Wise account that has US Bank details that can accept Direct Debits. Tried it for my US ICC Amex but the system failed and it was a paper process - welcome to the 21st century

With a proper US based Amex can you set up Direct Debit from your online account like you can in Australia and the UK?

Thanks in advance
I also have a Citi and HSBC account both US accounts. I am Oz based. I predominatly use my Citibank cause they have always been good to me globally.
I use revolut as it is cheaper than wise...but I will use wise if I want to transfer more than 9k a month

From the US Global Mail site FAQs

Can I use US Global Mail address for my bank account or credit card?
The answer is Yes and No! Yes, because most banks and credit card companies allow our address to be used on the account as your personal address.

However, some banks have recently started asking for a personal address which is not a CMRA (Commercial Mail Receiving Agency) address. In such cases, our clients provide a the address of a friend or family member or their company as the personal address and their US Global Mail address as the shipping address. That ensures that no mail goes to the personal address but comes to their Virtual Mailbox at US Global Mail.”

Anybody tried them

Reports earlier in the thread suggest Amex doesn’t view MyUS as a CMRA - seems odd given the nature of the address (Suite xx_xx). Anybody know why? What the criteria is?

Thanks . Would that be T - mobile ? Can it be purchased online and delivered to oz ?Thanks
It could be any us provider. I have the T mobile prepaid sim that deducts 3USD every month. Without a postpaid SIM chase just ask u questions from your credit file for validation. Make sure u know which county your post code belongs. Just do a Google search by placing ur post code and asking what county it belongs. However if u need a postpaid card. The T mobile prepaid can me converted to a postpaid number but I have not tested it

In case I go for the T-mobile one, it looks like there are prepaid T-mobile SIMs but they only last 30 days on Amazon. I think I'm looking in the wrong place.

Edit: I think I found it. Its ultramobile paygo.
As per another post prepaid can possibly be converted to postpaid .

There might be issues with porting a post paid business no to certain (personal) prepaid carriers in USA, despite them sharing the same T-mobile network. In which I have experienced.

Thanks . But aren’t we ideally looking at converting prepaid to post paid ?

Just received offer of 5,000 US MR points for new supps on my US Green card. I'm inclined to do it. Do any other AFFers have any experience of applying for supps on their US Amex and what hoops AMEX makes us jump through to get them?

It is very easy to apply for one as I got my Mrs as my secondary card. U can do it online. However there are data points stating that if u don’t provide ur secondary card holders date of birth and SSN the card could be cancelled. My Mrs does not have a social it is just myself that I have one. However I applied for the secondary at the same time of my green card. And in a month I got my Mrs a Marriott card using global transfer. The other option is try it on the phone. PS I got the same offer

Tried for a second time to get a MyUS account after receiving a promotional email from Citi with a link to get 2yrs free Premium membership. Failed again. Application declined. Rude email sent. Awaiting reply

A google search suggests this is not uncommon.

Already had a Skypax account (but wanted to use MyUS based on the successful outcomes reported here) and the good news is (so far) for anybody interested is that it hasn’t yet triggered a flag at Amex

i applied today for a Hilton Aspire and was successful. Have sent it to my Skypax mailbox.

The main potential problem is the possibility that my Suite wasn’t recorded. The Amex online form now has fields for address, apt/suite, city, state and zip.

When the following screen came up to verify my identity it had the address without the suite. My guess is that the suite is too long for the field. I’ll let you know the outcome.

Keep an eye on this as Skypax say on their website that they only deal with packages and you can't use them for regular mail, post or letters.
