qantas classic reward free change question

According to website:

• An Australian domestic or trans-Tasman Classic Flight Reward before 28 February 2022 and you can change or cancel your booking free of charge until 28 February 2022

I know the booking has to be made before 28 Feb 2022,

but does the flight time have to be before 28 Feb 2022? can it be after Feb (e.g. Mar / Apr) then I can still make change / cancel before 28 Feb ?

My understanding is that the change/cancellation needs to be made by that date. The date has been extended several times in the past.

Flight can be anytime. Cancel for full refund on 27 Feb. Cancel 1 March with penalties.
