Iberia - The best FF?

I thought this article from the Economist might be of interest and might provoke some debate (the problem with Iberia for those in Oz what would be availability I would have thought).

Unfortunately this opinion is based on only one factor in the program.Maybe more flights have award seats because no one wants them?
Over on webflyer although the "experts"rate the program well the members do not-only spirit airlines and egypt air programs were rated lower by members.
As I personally dont want to fly Iberia again it certainly doesnt interest me.

I note with interest the poor feedback comments on flying with Iberia yet our experience with both long haul and short haul over the past 2 years has been very positive...We are flying Madrid to Lima in July and will report on how that long haul flight eventuates...However I think that I would trying and avoid Iberia where possible noting that flying to South America without using Iberia is difficult.

I find LAN very good and their main European hub is MAD.

Between LAN ex-MAD and BA ex-LHR there's plenty of Sth American options ex-EU.
