Hi, so I just got into points club for the first time. I'm not overly excited as it doesn't seem to offer all that much but anyway better than nothing I guess. I'm actually half way to Points Club Plus but I just wondered if it's worth even thinking about. I have until 30th April 2022 to make it to PCP. It would seem to me that it would take most people a fair part of the year to get into PCP, so let's say I make it by January, does that mean I only have until April to be a member then it goes back to zero, or are you PCP for the following year? TIA for any help.

It works similarly that than your Qantas status, so if you make it by Jan, you 'll keep it for 12 + 3 = 15 months.
Is PC or PC+ worth it? If it happens organically, then it doesn't hurt. If you need to put in some effort to chase it, then it's up to you decide if the published benefit are worth your effort or not. https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/status-and-clubs/points-club.html

Thanks Chris, that's exactly what I couldn't work out - the 12+3 part. Well that's a bit better - by then we might be able to actually go somewhere. :)

The best thing we have got out of being in Points Club, is the status credits earned on flights booked with points.

Yep, and the best thing out of Points Club Plus is the 100SC rollover. Really the only benefits worth chasing either tier for. (unless you are Bronze/Silver in which case the QC membership is a quite attractive)

Hi. I am in Silver, so the QC membership will save me a bit if I get there. Once again though, do you know how that works? Normally I am in QC and pay for it, and at the moment it's extended due to COVID. So if I make it into PCP and get free QC membership when would it start from? Got any idea? It would seem pointless (haha, no pun...) if one is getting free extensions anyway.

Here are the full T&C for the free QC membership:

± Points Club Plus members will receive complimentary digital Qantas Club Individual membership for the duration of their Points Club Plus membership. Digital Qantas Club membership means that a member will not have a physical Qantas Club membership card but will be able to access their Qantas Club membership from their smartphone and view Qantas Club benefits online at qantas.com/qantasclub. If a member attains or retains Gold, Platinum or Platinum One tier and Points Club Plus level in the same Membership Year, only one Lounge Access benefit will be awarded, and the Qantas Frequent Flyer tier benefits, which contain more widespread lounge access globally, will prevail. The complimentary Qantas Club membership benefit is not transferable. Qantas Club members may access a Qantas Club, Qantas domestic regional lounge and a Qantas operated International Business Lounge when their next flight on the same day is with a Qantas (QF) or Jetstar (JQ, 3K and GK) flight number on their ticket. Partner and Associated lounge access is subject to various conditions of entry. Qantas Club members will also be welcomed at the Emirates Business Lounge in Dubai when their next onward flight that day is a flight with a Qantas (QF) flight number. For more information, or to download the Qantas app visit qantas.com/qantasclub. Access and use of Qantas Club lounges is subject to Qantas Club Terms and Conditions. Temporary measures have been put in place in the Qantas lounge network including capacity restrictions, physical distancing requirements and changes to our food and beverage service offerings. Qantas International First and International Business lounges remain closed (excluding our Sydney and Melbourne Qantas International First lounges and our Brisbane International Business lounge). Please be advised that lounges are subject to capacity limits at the time of your visit. Remember to check our airport service changes page for the most up to date information on lounge openings and updates.

The first line would suggest it starts immediately, but it's unclear whether your existing paid QC membership is paused (as it would be if you hit gold) or if the two QC memberships run concurrently.

You’d expect it would be paused (as you say, similar to getting SG or WP etc).

Thank you everyone. Most people on here know more in-depth about the various Q benefits than I do, and I really appreciate your knowledge.

Hi all, Quick question re Status Credits Rollover.

My wife is trying to obtain WP this year and is currently SG and a Points Club Member. Status Expiry Jan 2022.

If she hits Points Club Plus before the end of Jan will the 100 extra status credits come into her account from prior years or would they only be effective from 1 Feb?

Cheers,

If she makes PC+ before the end of Jan, she will roll over 100 SC from this year towards her Jan 2023 renewal.

and if she’s that close, pop over here for added SCs insurance. Another offer was just released!

Ahh okay, was really hoping ticking over to PCP next month would apply an extra 100 SC retrospectively from last years flying to get her to 1,400 by the end of the Jan 22.

Thanks mate, jumped on that on Friday. Also did BP 50SC + AMEX and Qantas CC.

500 SC to go. Just need a DSC promo and the borders to open and we will get there.
