I received this from V Rewards today..

Velocity - It's Time to Refuse

Have 220,000 QFF points and rack up $6250 a month, want to take a trip for 2 bus class later this year, or 1st Q of 2010.

Am I better off staying with QFF or going over to V?.

See this thread.

Depends on how many points you earn, your current frequent flyer status and how/where you want to go, amongst other factors.

You might want to top up your QANTAS Frequent Flyer points to the level needed for 1 or 2 people in Business Class (to whereever you want to go).

There are plenty of alternatives to Velocity Rewards and QANTAS Frequent Flyer, which are worthwhile alternatives.

Velocity only has J awards through partners and they are more expensive than QFF...

I just recieve a 30% off coupon from virigin america. If they rang and asked why I (and a large potion of 7000 undergrads) didn't use elevate, they might learn something. I didn't help build up $110m of hospitals without learning a few things on the way.

The Emirates/V Australia J burn rates are the similar to QF's and V Aus' are actually slightly cheaper. They are working on the VS redemption rates.

if you factor in the current 25% bonus, then they are actually cheaper. (eK/VA vs QF)

Do you have any figures for that given that VElocity dont make the information available on their website?

Thanks for that. The Dubai-Sydney looks good value actually and would be very attractive to my parents...
