The comments were in relation to non essential items, not food.
Yes agree.
Not that I am Dr Young advocate, but she was just requesting people to not order things to be delivered now unless they really need it now (ie Food and critical items). So that plus requesting that people not leave home just now, were both quite a sensible recommendations for a change.
Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young has urged Queenslanders to reconsider online shopping to minimise deliveries as she pushes for everyone to stay at home.
“Please, when you open your front door, just think for a moment – do you really need to go out,” Dr Young said.
“And also – and I’m a great online shopper – could you think about whether you need to do online shopping this week.
“Do you need those people out in the community delivering packages and things? Maybe just leave them for a week.
“And click and collect – do you really need that furniture that I know you can go and click and collect which is safer, absolutely, than going into the store, but it still means you’re putting someone else at risk.
“So please, everyone, just think what you could do to just stay at home for the next few days until Sunday because it would be really good if we could lift it [the lockdown].
“That’s a big challenge, though, when I look at other states and how long it’s taken before they could lift their restrictions.
